Nearly All Pennsylvania Fieldwork Cancelled

Pennsylvania had a poor week for field activities with an average of 1.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 52F, a low of 15F and a state average temperature of 34F. Heavy snows appeared Thursday night and melted
slowly through the weekend, largely hindering fieldwork and grain harvests.
A large portion of corn and soybean crops remain unharvested with concerns that it may stay that way.
Accumulated snow melted slowly over the weekend causing wet fields to remain wet with little relief in sight. Nearly all field activities this week were canceled.
