Greencastle-Antrim Golf Tourney June 3

The 28th Annual Golf Tournament, benefiting the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, is set for June 3 at the Greencastle Greens Golf course. The tournament sponsor is once again Penn National Insurance and Craig Friedley, Potter and Moore insurance Agency.

"Golf is such a great sport because young or old, male or female, duffer or pro, it's an opportunity to have a great time with friends and colleagues, and perhaps even surprise yourself with some tricky shots," says Georgina Cranston, Executive Director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce.

Organized by the Chamber, this tournament is open to all players--not just Chamber members, and the public is encouraged to come and play in the 4 player scramble with lunch starting at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee includes a round of golf, cart fees, lunch, snacks, adult beverages, gift bags for all golfers and prizes. The awards ceremony will be held at 6:15 p.m. at the clubhouse.

Prizes are offered to the top three teams but even duffers have a chance to win a car if they can make a hole-in-one on the Par 3 hole (hole 14). Antrim Way Honda is the hole-in-one sponsor for all par three's and is offering other Par 3 prizes as well. The John Allison Public House is sponsoring four closest to the pin holes, the longest drive hole as well as offering John Allison bucks for golfers who correctly identify all the hole sponsors. Other sponsors include F&M Trust for the Putting Green sponsorship, Lumber Direct for snacks, Manitowoc for the Flight, Kline's Grocery for the food and Blue Heron for the 19th Hole party trays.

All the spring rain has put the golf course in great shape for the tournament. The fairways are lush, the greens are green and the carts are primed to take golfers on a great ride around the course.
