Finally, Nice and Dry Pennsylvania Weather

Pennsylvania had a good week for field activities with an average of 5.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 96F, a low of 51F and a state average temperature of 65F.

A good week for field activities. Finally, nice and dry weather helping and catching up on the field work.

Warmer temperatures this week really brought some grain crops to maturity. Corn is now starting to grow, sweet and tart cherries are being picked now. Oat is beginning to head, wheat is coloring, and reports of barley being harvested.

Apples and peaches continue to mature and producers are busy with keeping their spray schedule to control insects and diseases.

Field activities such as haymaking, planting, replanting and spraying took place last week.
