Pennsylvania Gets Nearly Perfect Week for Fieldwork

Pennsylvania had another excellent week for field activities with an average of 6.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 91F, a low of 32F and a state average temperature of 74.6F.

Corn grain harvests are showing the hard effect the lack of rain. Soybeans nearly full maturity and started harvesting.

Apple, corn and soybean harvests continue to on schedule at the meant time no change in the tobacco progress. However, winter wheat plantings appear to be far behind likely due in part to recent rain shortages.

The majority of fieldwork involves, harvesting apples, corn, vegetables and soybeans, soil preparation, corn and soybeans and seeding cover crops and small grains.
